Announced that Elltepe has selected the LiteLine DSL router supplied by Westell Ltd of Basingstoke, UK, for its ADSL 2 customers in the Scandinavia regions, with the objective of serving several new state-financed, city-based ADSL networks deploying high bandwidth video/TV streaming services.
Specifically the Westell announcement said that Elltepe had selected LiteLine due to the product's ability to provide up to 12 Mbit/s of bandwidth and would initially recommend and supply LiteLine's built in S=1/2 capabilities to achieve ADSL2 speeds.
Conny Franzen, VP Sales at Elltepe, was quoted as saying, "We are very excited about Westell's LiteLine because it is capable of supporting the new high speed ADSL2 standard but also can be upgraded to the even faster ADSL2+ standard when it becomes available later".
Franzen added, "With a commitment towards achieving full interoperability with a range of ADSL2/2+ DSLAMs, LiteLine will immediately enable our service provider customers to successfully deploy high bandwidth applications".
